BIOGRAPHY

Abhijit Bidaye is the Applications Manager – Consumer Care at Croda Inc. During his 27-year career in the personal care industry, he has spent 25 years of his employment on the supply side of the industry with Croda Inc. in both Skin Care and Hair Care. His current focus is on Sun care, Color cosmetics and Sustainable innovation. Abhijit is a graduate of University of Cincinnati MS in Cosmetic Science program. He has BS in Pharmacy from University of Pune, India. He has presented at various industry related events and has chaired NYSCC Sunscreen symposium events.

Skin Care Trends and Wet Wipes: Manifestations of Change?

The global skin care market is mainly dominated by facial care and body care. Skin care comes in various formats with creams, lotions and the serums leading way. These formats have all a common theme of moisturization and self-care. Top growing claims in skin care over last 5 years are vegan/ no animal ingredients, sustainable and environmentally friendly packaging. We see a shift in the skin care market, leading us into three key trends; Clear beauty and conscious consumerism, stress care which enables wellbeing and ‘Cleanical’ which marries science with clean ingredients. It would be fascinating if we can conjugate these trends with wet wipe technology and make wet wipes a leading skin care format.
