BIOGRAPHY

Andrea Ruggiero is a seasoned Sales and Project Manager with over 15 years of experience spanning engineering, procurement, and commercial management. Since 2014, he has been with A.Celli Group, where he plays a key role in driving sales strategies, managing complex industrial projects, and enhancing client relationships in high-tech manufacturing environments.

Prior to joining A.Celli Group, Andrea built a multifaceted career at Alta S.p.A., holding roles across project engineering, sales and marketing, and procurement. He was instrumental in proposal development, technical bidding, and the design of space mission subsystems—combining technical expertise with commercial insight. As a Project Engineer, he contributed to pioneering work in spacecraft mission analysis and software development, while also mentoring students and authoring technical publications.

Andrea holds a Master’s degree (Laurea Magistrale) in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Pisa, where he laid the foundation for his career in advanced engineering and system design.

His professional strengths include project leadership, sales strategy, technical communication, and cross-functional coordination in complex industrial sectors.

Cutting Through the Problem: A Smart Slitting Solution for the Wipes Industry

In the nonwoven and wipes industry, precise slitting is vital to ensure consistent product quality and reduce waste. However, manual knife and counter knife setups are prone to errors due to mechanical tolerances, blade wear, and operator variability—especially during blade changes or recipe shifts. These issues often lead to cutting failures, scrap, and downtime. Responding to feedback from customers, a new automated slitting system has been developed that detects and corrects the offset between each blade pair in real time. Unlike conventional systems, it adjusts each tool set individually and retains optimal settings after maintenance, reducing operator intervention and setup time. The system’s advantages include improved roll quality, longer blade life, and more stable production. With proven performance in live environments, it offers a practical, retrofit-ready solution to the slitting challenges unique to the wipes sector.
