Trends, Tushes & TikToks: The Rise of the Modern Wipe

From Lab Bench to Retail Shelf: Balancing Consumer Perception and Technical Data to Break into Consumer Brands

In today’s hyper-competitive market, having a technically superior product isn’t always enough—especially in categories like wipes, where emotional cues, branding, and strategic partnerships can make or break success.

In this session, Robin Beck explores how to align scientific innovation with consumer expectations and how to turn that alignment into commercial wins. She’ll dive into the tension between technical truth and consumer perception—highlighting how sensory triggers like texture, scent, and packaging influence emotional buy-in and purchase decisions.

But she’ll also go a step further—walking attendees through how to successfully partner with converters or brands to bring their innovation to life. From understanding where a raw material fits in the value chain to presenting benefits that resonate with both R&D and marketing teams, Robin will share practical strategies for collaboration. She’ll cover what consumer brands are really looking for, how to tailor your story for gatekeepers at each stage, and how to move from technical curiosity to commercial adoption.
